Every client is unique. Michael conducts a rigorous personal assessment to tailor an integrated treatment plan to your specific needs.
Appointments, Fees & Rebates
Sessions are clinical, hour-long (50-minute) sessions conducted securely online. Under the Australian Government’s Better Access initiative, you may be eligible for up to 10 Medicare-rebated sessions per calendar year. To claim the Medicare rebate, you will need a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and referral letter from your General Practitioner (GP) made out to Dr Michael Player.

Do you offer in-person sessions?
No, Michael Player Psychology is currently a telehealth-only practice. All sessions are conducted via a secure, encrypted video platform. This allows clients across Australia to access high-quality clinical care from the comfort of their home or office.
What are your fees, and can I get a Medicare rebate?
Yes, Medicare rebates are available if you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and referral from your GP under the Better Access initiative. This rebate covers a significant portion of the session fee. Private health fund rebates may also be available, depending on your level of cover. Please check with your health fund.
How do I request an appointment?
As we do not offer self-service online booking, all enquiries are managed securely through our website contact form. Once you submit an enquiry, our practice administrator will contact you within one business day to discuss availability, fees, and schedule your appointment.
What should I expect in my first session?
Your initial consultation is an individualised assessment session. Michael will take the time to understand your background, current concerns, stressors, and therapy goals. Together, you will establish the foundation for an evidence-based, highly personalised treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.
